These are great glasses for cycling and just for wearing around. The automatic darkening is great. Don't expect them to get as dark as regular sunglasses (that would be dangerous to wear in the dark), but they are still comfortable for me even though I have sensitive eyes. The light weight and comfort can't be beat.Durable frame, sleek-looking and 2 extra sets of lens that change out easily. I wear these daily. The tint is fantastic, especially against bright sun out here so close to the equator and smack-dab in the middle of the Pacific ocean. Genuinely seem well-crafted enough to be scratch resistant: I usually wipe off condensation, sweat, dust, etc. with my t-shirt and am back in business without worrying whether I damaged $90 sunglasses. If you want quality while not spending hundreds more on a high-end brand name where you're covering the costs of advertisements, give this brand some serious consideration. Certainly the best pair of sunglasses I've ever purchased in my life (albeit, the most expensive, too...but you get what you pay for).I had bought a pair of these sun glasses about 6 years ago and loved them. They were light weight and nice and clear. But a couple of weeks ago I took a fall on my bike and my glasses got all scratched up. These are great glasses for golf and bike riding.I needed a new set of sunglasses after my Maui Jim Banyan's back coating flaked into a status of complete deterioration, so I will be using the Banyans as my baseline.1. Construction-The Tyrants are build for an active lifestyle often being sold in bike shops and golf courses. They are sturdily constructed and offer a lifetime warranty on frames. Lenses are not covered, but it would be cheaper to simply purchase a new pair rather than ship them off for replacements. These are the types of glasses that I can take anywhere without worrying about long term damage from water or other elements. For construction, I give the advantage to Tifosi.2. Looks-With many styles to choose from, Tofosi offers some great options. The Tyrants fit my face well, are light, and comfortable. Compared to Maui Jim's though, they simply do not have the styling offered with many of Maui's models. The Banyan's look a lot better overall, advantage Maui Jim.3. Vision-This is a tough one, Maui Jim's sun blocking is noticeably superior to the Tyrant's smoke grey lens; however, the Tyrant offer 3 lenses included with their package (I chose the smoke, GT, EC model). Smoke does an ample job in bright sun and I find myself using the EC much more than I ever anticipated. Dusk rides, cloudy days, and deep woods activity vision is enhanced through the use of the extreme contrast lenses. I really did not want to believe they worked and would just be a purple lens to roll around in, but they do increase contrast in lower light settings leading to improved vision. The Golf/Tennis lens does not do much for me, but I have not used them for either for the aforementioned activities. At this time the Smoke and EC meet all my needs. If it is straight bright sun you need glasses for, the Maui's win, but the multiple lenses give Tifosi a slight advantage for versatility.4. Value-This is not close. My Banyan's cost $200 and lens replacement would be $80+shipping+$10 service fee. Maui's customer service is great including a personal phone call during the repair. For the same price as new Banyan's one could buy 5 pair of Tyrant's or simply buy one pair with virtually every possible lens combination. Even if I lose these and have to buy a second pair, I am still ahead vs. one set of lens replacements from Maui. Simply put, the value cannot be beat.Overall these are very good, multi-functional, and versatile glasses for the active individual. Based on experience and other reviews, it would be advisable to try some on at a local retailer before purchasing ensuring a good fit to match personal preferences. These glasses are super light and comfortable that provide that awesome wrap around coverage I for one must have when running/biking. Here's the thing - these glasses have slits at the upper right/left of the lens. Game changer. These glasses just don't get fogged up at all really, and I live in a steamy area of the US. Add on top the ability to change the lenses out for different colors/conditions for the price - win. I have bought another pair already.Purchased to use during my bicycle commute. I wear contacts now so i needed something to protect my eyes from the cold air and potential debris. These did a GREAT job protecting from the wind during my chilly morning commute in 20° temps. I use the clear lens since it's still dark out when I leave in the morning. The optics are indeed clear and the lens did not fog up at all. That's a HUGE bonus especially in the cold. I was worried that the small ports on the corner would create a small stream of nuisance air on my temples, but they didn't. I imagine they actually contributed to preventing fogging. I typically wear a 145 length arm in my eyeglasses. These fit great and landed just behind my ear, so i assume the effective arm length is between 140 -145.I had to knock off a star for two reasons:1. The arms bow out in such a way that it's nearly impossible to put these on beneath a balaclava. This makes them rather awkward and cumbersome to use in the cold weather. I had to land the arm on the outside of the balaclava but beneath the helmet straps. Luckily the nose grips are fairly effective at keeping them stabilized on the face. It'd be great to have arms that were simply straight and not so bowed. Even is the arms were tad more thin that would help tremendously. Perhaps I need to just find another pair for winter riding?2. The nose clip while very effective, does not seem to have enough "memory" to retain the width that you adjust it to in order to fit your nose properly. Half way during my ride I could tell they were starting to "close in" from the expanded position i'd put them into to fit my nose properly. Not sure if this is just a result of the cold air or what. It definitely wasn't a result of sweat.I see that the price fluctuates between forty eight & sixty one dollars here on Amazon. I feel like these are a GREAT value at forty eight dollars....but maybe a tad too high once you hit the sixty dollar range.Very comfortable wrap-around sport glasses with interchangeable lenses - first rateLight glasses with a great fit and the lenses react so quickly. Its not only the looks but the feel I find important when choosing a lens. This one feels good :)Normalmente usaba lentes Oakley, pero últimamente sus lentes rojos tienden a ser más bien naranjas. Estos, en cambio, son los lentes más rojos que he visto en mucho tiempo. Me encantan.
