Dial in your Tifosi Interchangeable sunglasses with Smoke or Brown when the sun is high and the sky is deep blue, AC Red for sunny-to-cloudy conditions and Clear for low-light conditions.All-Sport Interchangeable ModelsAll-Sport (Golf, Tennis, Baseball and More) Interchangeable Models (Smoke / GT / Extreme Contrast lenses) are designed to improve your game, whether it be golf, tennis or baseball. The Golf / Tennis (GT) lens is great for full sun and increases contrast so you can quickly spot your ball in flight. The Extreme Contrast (EC) lens is designed specifically as a greens-reader, helping you spot subtle breaks on the green as you plan your next putt. The Smoke lens is a great all-around lens that really performs in full-sun conditions.Fototec Lens TechnologyFototec lenses with variable tint technology (T-V) adjust rapidly to changing light conditions for superior clarity and protection. In bright sun, microscopic photochromic particles embedded in the lens react to UV rays darkening the optics so you'll never squint. Then with cloud cover, the particles return to their previous state letting through more light. Tifosi Fototec lenses offer 100% protection against harmful UVA/UVB rays. KEY FEATURES A. I picked up running recently, and with softball season kicking off, I decided I needed a good pair of sport glasses for both activities (beach use is not out of the question either). I grabbed the Tifosi Slips due to good reviews, good price (about $12 off MSRP and $6 less than the cheapest store price I saw) with the Extreme Contrast, GT, and Brown one-piece lenses. The build quality of the frame seems to be pretty sturdy, and it does seem to give a bit (it has to in order to replace the lens) without damaging integrity (though I wouldn't dare go so far as all the beds and twists demoed on the Tifosi website). As for the lenses, they are supposedly made of shatter-proof plastic, but that's a point that I hope I never have to prove with a real-world test. The earpieces are adjustable/bendable, but, again, I'm not testing it and don't foresee a real need for that ability based on my own activities.Changing the lenses isn't super easy. That's good, because it means the lenses won't randomly come loose or fall out. On the inverse, I always feel like I'm going to break either the frame or the lens, especially when removing the lens. The other not-so-great part is that unless you are wearing gloves while doing so, you are bound to get a bunch of fingerprints on the lens while replacing. Just a PITA to have to keep cleaning them each time.Regarding the lenses, I must admit that I am happy. I have yet to use/test the EC lens. The other two perform admirably, but oddly enough, I feel that the brown lens gives things a 'sharper' look than the GT lens (which, by explanation, should be sharper). Will have to test that out a bit more. Also, a slight annoyance is that the lenses aren't marked. The red EC was easy to pick out, but the other two are mildly similar. You still have to go to the website to figure it all out (and the website isn't all that specific or exact). The only guide that came with the glasses was how to replace the lens. That's it. Regardless, the view out of each lens is 100x better than anything you'd find on a drug store turn-style, and comparable to the pay-for-the-name brands of sports glasses we're all familiar with. The reason I did buy these is because I needed a set of sport glasses that weren't polarized/wouldn't skew my view and that wouldn't fog up. They pass the first qualifier with flying colors. The second...let's say they get a B. Better at not fogging than other glasses (I assume the built-in vents help), but once in a while a fog spot will form. Doesn't stick around long, but if it happened at a bad time (at bat trying to hone in on a pitch) it could be an issue. It's only happened a couple times, so I'll reserve worse judgement for the time being. The hard shell case is a nice extra, as is the soft case as well (that can second as a lens wipe in a jam). The accordian-style removable lens holder in the hard case is also a nice bonus as well, keeping it all in on location.I am happy with these thus far, and expect the experience to continue based on the initial findings.I bought these mostly for night and dawn/dusk cycling; I use my normal sunglasses for daytime hours. My quick synopsis is that these are a great value for decent quality glasses that you can use for sports without worrying much about them (like I know I would with a $200 pair of Oakleys). I like that they come with a hard case and a soft microfiber pouch; I don't use either for my everyday sunglasses, but I do for my cycling glasses that get tossed around in my gym bags.Build QualityThey're not built like a $200 pair of glasses, but they're not $5 swap meet garbage either. I think the quality is about what you'd expect for the price. The hinges are decent but not robust. The plastic frame flexes but I'd consider that a plus for sport glasses. I wear mid-range sunglasses (e.g. SunCloud) and these feel like they're in the ballpark but maybe a little flimsier; although I have never owned a pair of open-frame exchangeable-lens glasses before, by nature of design they probably feel a little flimsier.LensesThe lenses are just ok. That's not to say that they're bad, but I don't expect they will be too durable; just plain plastic. I got a clear, orange, and brown set of lenses, and turns out the orange work well for night riding even though they're a bit darker than the clear. As others have noted, removing the lens the first time is very difficult. I ended up doing something a little different from the directions. I pinched at the nose as said but I grabbed the lens more in the middle of one of the eyes and separated it from the frame there first, instead of over the nose. After you remove the lens once the process becomes easy.SizingI originally tried a pair of Tifosi Tyrants but they were way too tight on my head. The Tifosi website said that the Slip is 10mm wider so I gave it a shot. It feels much wider than the Tyrant. I'd say I have an average to maybe slightly large male head and these feel great. The arms are hardly pressing on my ears so I would think these glasses could comfortably fit a fairly wide head. I pretty much forget I'm wearing them when riding.CyclingThe glasses are really easy to get on and off with a helmet on but stay put when they're on. The lenses conform to my face and are wide enough to keep out debris when riding through dust and what not - yet they vent enough that I haven't had any trouble with them fogging up.Update:After a couple months of use I have a few comments. First is that one of the nose pads came off after a few weeks and I lost it. Tifosi sells replacement pads, and even comment that you should install them with some superglue. Sounds like they know that they pop out easy - would have been nice if they followed their own advice and installed them originally with some glue. Moving down to 4/5 stars, but still very happy with them. They are very comfortable, and I use them whenever I'm on my bike now, not just when it's dark with the clear lenses.I hate getting dust in my eyes. These keep the dust and the flies and all other debris out. Comfortable fit, and the glass wraps quite far around to the side of your eyes.My second pair of these excellent sunglasses. Use them for cycling and they are very comfortable, light and don't fog up too much in cold weather. I use the yellow lenses when riding in the dark and they are perfect. Haven't used the clear and probably never will. Very good value too.Bought as a replacement for some Speciali**d optics ,the improvement in the photochromic lenses is very good, changing from dark to shade far better than previous glasses, good build without being heavy.I have a 59cm head and these fit perfectly. most off the shelf glasses are too big for me. Great value for money - especially with the addnl lenses. 3 pairs for the price of one!Really good for running. Very light and comfortable and the photochromic lenses seem to work well
